Bingham pedestrian walkway? That's down by Isenberg. References to Punahou St are kinda confusing. The photo looks accurate though, with traffic backed up that far, if you know where that walkway is.

Sure it would have been more clear to say "H-1 closed between Punahou and University", but headlines have to be short

All this for a jumper., call the wagon, clean it up and move on w. the day. simple. as It's making all the side streets crazy as ppl are honking, and running red lights just to get thru the traffic and their late appointments/jobs. I just saw it walking back from subway. I understand if it was a crazy head on/vehicle bumper car bang up, but she jumped - sorry its sad - but do we have to shut down a freeway for hours - that affects thousands of people for that persons stupid actions?

Maybe they're not sure it's suicide and are treating it as a possible crime scene?

After all, someone did throw a baby off the overpass a few years back. It could have been a homicide.

That's a very thoughtless and insensitive statement. I hope on your last day on earth you are treated with patience and care like they took care of that poor lady. Think about it.

I saw this this morning. They were detouring cars at the Moiliili off ramp at Punahou. Traffic going towards Hawaii Kai stretched all the way back to Kalihi or further. Couldn't tell as I got off at the Liliha off ramp. I did look for a body, car accident, or construction equipment but saw nothing unusual. Maybe Obama is in town. What a mess.

Cops were standing around in traffic vests but no one was directing traffic. Drivers didn't realize that Punahou st. offramp has 2 lanes from the freeway. Five lanes of traffic (4 freeway Piikoi st onramp) were merging into a single off ramp lane. Would've helped if cops directed traffic into TWO off ramp lanes instead everyone merging into ONE.

As usual, it's all about making their job easier while totally disregarding the impact and inconvenience to the public. HPD management is borderline incompetent but I guess that 's not unusual for government workers in Hawaii.
