An Oahu grand jury returned an indictment Thursday charging a 72-year-old man with last month’s murder in Waipahu.

The indictment charges Jose Inigo with murder in connection with the Jan. 12 stabbing death of 42-year-old Marlo G. Basuel at a Kahuanani Street home.

State Circuit Judge Richard Perkins set bail for Inigo at $300,000.

Police arrested Inigo three days after the murder, not far from the scene, at his Kahualoa Place home after Inigo sought medical attention for an injury to one of his hands.

They later released him without charges pending further investigation.
