Police discovered stolen mail, a BB pistol and two packets of illegal drugs after stopping a vehicle Saturday night in Waianae for an alleged traffic violation, according to police records.

Police stopped the vehicle around 10:32 p.m. near Ulehawa and Hakimo roads.

Inside the car, police found mail stolen from the mailbox of a 59-year-old woman and a BB pistol. A search of the 29-year-old driver also revealed two packets of illegal drugs in his pockets, police said.

His passenger, a 21-year-old Kaneohe woman, was arrested on suspicion of having unauthorized personal information.

What's most troubling about this story is that this guy shows an apparent lack of respect for any type of authority or law. While he's relatively young, you can bet that he'll continue on the path he's chosen and the crimes will get more and more serious.

You got that right. I was rear-ended by a driver with 2 warrants - no insurance, no driver's license, and no registration. What did the cop do? Write her another ticket & let her drive off. Unconscionable.
