By Star-Advertiser staff

LAST UPDATED: 08:13 a.m. HST, Feb 18, 2014

Muggy Kona weather with vog and afternoon showers is expected Tuesday.

The rainy weather should ease by Wednesday, but the vog and humidity will stick around through Friday, until trade winds return on Saturday.

A flood advisory for Hawaii island issued just after 5 a.m. expired at 8 a.m. after heavy rains near Waikoloa Village moved offshore.

Kauai also saw some rains early Tuesday morning, but conditions should improve by this afternoon.

The forest for Honolulu calls for a 50 percent chance of rain Tuesday and light winds and hazy conditions.
