Ewa Beach man charged with threatening another man

Police have charged a 19-year-old Ewa Beach man for allegedly threatening another man with a knife on Wednesday.

According to police, Pekelo Melendez confronted the 18-year-old victim and threatened him with the knife. The victim left the scene but Melendez confronted him again and assaulted him, police said.

The incident allegedly occurred around 3:20 p.m. in Kalihi. The victim called police who located and arrested Melendez.

Melendez was charged Friday with first-degree terroristic threatening. His bail was set at $11,000.
