Maui County Council Chairwoman Gladys Baisa is in the hospital recovering from a fall.

Maui County Council Chairwoman Gladys Baisa was admitted to a hospital after slipping and falling on her way to a meeting Wednesday night.

Baisa announced on Facebook that she had a couple of pelvic bone hairline fractures.

She said the fractures did not require surgery and should heal on its own.

Baisa said she’d be attending a party for her on March 12 but might be in a wheelchair.

She requested no flowers.

"I have allergies," she said.
