Hawaiian Airlines has moved up the start date for its new daily year-round service between Los Angeles and Maui by one month and will now begin flying on May 2 rather than June 1.

In addition, the airline also will add a second daily flight for eight weeks this summer, doubling up on flights from June 30 to Sept. 8, adding more than 32,700 seats in both travel markets.

Hawaiian previously announced that new non-stop summer service between Los Angeles and both Lihue and Kona will begin in June.

With the new start date for the year-round service and the addition of the second daily flight this summer, a total of more than 175,000 seats will be added to both Los Angeles and Maui's travel markets this year.

The new daily service will be operated by Hawaiian's 294-seat Airbus 330-200 aircraft.

Very disappointing to see this kind of move when HA haven't reached out to the affected passengers caused by the discontinuation of its Taipei route....tsk...tsk...tsk BTW I'm one of those affected and have contacted HA by phone and e-mail...no clear answer to this day.

Forget Asia. It's about time that Hawaiian starts better servicing its HAWAII passengers that want to travel from here to the mainland. In Kona they've left the door open for American, United, Delta, Alaska, etc. by not offering year round direct flights. Our Hawaiian miles go unused because we'd have to fly on a connecting flight to Maui or Honolulu to fly to the mainland. Hawaiian Airlines is Hawaiian in name only! Even their call center is in the Philippines...miss hearing the distinguished Hawaiian voices on the phone.

The restoration of the Maui to Las Vegas would be much more appreciated and utilized than the Maui to Los Angles.
