The Hawaii women's basketball team has accepted its second straight Women's National Invitation Tournament bid and has been sent to play at Washington of the Pac-12 in a first-round matchup on Friday.

The Huskies (17-13) went 9-5 at home this season. They went 10-8 in league play.

UH (17-13) is one of two Big West teams in the 64-team field, along with Cal Poly.

UH was admitted to the WNIT last season, Laura Beeman's first year as coach, with an identical 17-13 record. The Wahine were sent to play at the University of San Diego and lost that first-round matchup, 61-49.

That was the program's first postseason appearance in a decade.
