More than three months after being arrested in front of his family home in San Diego, Bryan Suitt is back in Honolulu to face a charge of killing Alex Gonzales, whose body was found dismembered in Waipio.
Suitt, 46, who unsuccessfully fought extradition from California, was processed by Honolulu police about 1:50 p.m. Wednesday on a charge of second-degree murder. His bail remained at $5 million.
A bag with the body parts of Gonzales, 34, was found on Sept. 15 by a couple looking for recyclables off the Mililani Memorial Park Cemetery Road in Waipio.
An arm and torso were found in the bag, and police told the couple the lower half of the body was found in another part of the ravine.
Suitt was indicted on a second-degree murder charge by an Oahu grand jury on Nov. 26.
He was arrested at 3:45 p.m. Dec. 2 at his family’s residence on Coronado Island in San Diego, the U.S. Marshals Service said.
Gonzales, known as "Gonzo," had an auto theft conviction and misdemeanor convictions for harassment and drunken driving.
