Stepmom shows in court how she stomped on 5-year-old child

LAST UPDATED: 01:38 p.m. HST, Mar 19, 2014

Delilah Williams demonstrated for a U.S. District Court jury Wednesday morning how she stomped on her 5-year-old stepdaughter just 17 days before the girl was beaten to death.

Williams, 30, said it was her husband, former Schofield Barracks soldier Naeem Williams, who later delivered the fatal blow and is testifying as a government witness in her husband's capital murder trial.

Naeem Williams, 34, is facing the death penalty for the July 16, 2005 child abuse beating death of his daughter Talia. The Honolulu Medical Examiner said Talia died as a result of head trauma due to battered-child syndrome.

At the request of one of her husband's defense lawyers, Delilah got out of the witness box and stepped in front of the jurors to demonstrate how she stomped on the girl on June 29, 2005. She had earlier testified that that was the most severe beating she had inflicted on Talia.

Delilah said she used "force to stomp down" on Talia and even held her foot down. She demonstrated that by moving her right foot up and down and said she stomped down "eight or so" times.

She said she was not wearing shoes and, at the time, weighed "a little over 200" pounds.

Delilah had earlier testified that she stopped stomping after she felt what she believed was bone cracking under her foot. She then put Talia on the toilet and pushed on her stepdaughter's stomach.

When Talia resisted she said she pushed harder causing the toilet to break. The stepmother then pulled the child up by the hair and slammed the girl's head against the wall.

She testified Tuesday that Talia's head left a dent in the wall as well as some hair.

Both parents are garbage. They should be put in a trash compactor.

Total trash. Whatever stress or problems they had give no one the right to treat anyone, especially a child, their own child, the way they did with such brutality and heartlessness. Karma is right at their butts.

She deserves the death penalty. I hope an afro-american inmate stomps on her until her bones crack.

On the one hand, I adhere to a belief that a civilized society should not intentionally execute humans for any reason. On the other hand, there are people such as these parents who should be thrown naked and unarmed into the nearest lion pit for public entertainment. And the prosecutors who agreed to such a generous plea deal for the mother should accmpany them.

Have plenty of evidence for that soldier's death penallty verdict, even without her testimony. THE WOMAN DOESN'T DESERVE A PLEA DEAL !! You kidding me?! She ought to get the death penalty too !! Insane BEASTS, both of them !!! Her natural mother had starved her too... This stepmother being kicked & tormented to death by fellow inmates & guards all during her 20-yr. prison term (no parole !!) would be a fitting end to her massive, twisted evilness. At least that poor sweet child, Talia, is in Heaven now... finally happy, safe, & loved !!

These parents are subhuman. Unfit for the human race. Twenty years for the life of a five year old who suffered such a painful death is an inadequate sentence. This stepmother child killer should get life in prison because she can harm her own child after she gets out.

This was so difficult to read. Death penalty for both of them. I can' believe they allowed her a plea deal. She is just as evil as her husband! How can people be so unconscionable to a helpless child? Totally mind boggling.
