Karen Kanetoku, 52, died Tuesday afternoon after she was run over in an Iwilei parking lot by her mother.

The Medical Examiner’s Office identified the 52-year-old Makiki woman who died Tuesday after she was run over in an Iwilei parking lot as Karen Kanetoku.

An autopsy will be performed to determine cause of death.

Police said Kanetoku was guiding her 86-year-old mother as she was backing up a 2003 Toyota Highlander. Police said the vehicle was in the loading zone at Discount Furniture Warehouse at 424 Sumner St.

The daughter was rushed in critical condition to the Queen’s Medical Center, where she later died, police Lt. Robert Towne said.
