The National Weather Service issued a high surf advisory for north and west shores of Oahu, Kauai County, Maui and Molokai as a swell brings waves of 12 to 16 feet to north shores and 8 to 12 feet along west shores.

The advisory is in effect until 4 a.m. Saturday.

On the Big Island, slow moving rain clouds drenched the island for most of Friday. A flood advisory expired at 4:30 p.m.

A rain gauge in Laupahoehoe reported rainfall rates over 2 inches an hour.
