An alert bank teller at the Kamehameha Shopping Center is credited with preventing a 31-year-old homeless man from cashing a stolen check.
Police said the suspect tried to cash the check at 2:15 p.m. Sunday, but the bank teller notified the branch manager who called the account holder.
The suspect was arrested on suspicion of fourth-degree theft and second-degree forgery.
