A 17-year-old teen who ran away from the Kaneohe youth corrections facility three months ago, while being taken to a medical appointment, is back in custody.

Police recaptured the boy Monday afternoon after officers were called to a Waipahu barber shop to investigate a report of a suspicious man.

The youth was returned to the Hawaii Youth Correctional Facility and faces additional charges of second-degree escape, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. He had been at large since Dec. 30.

Someone is aiding and abetting this 17 years old escapee. He could not make it as a homeless, cause he has not learned the ropes and furthermore not developed the grit it takes to be a homeless. It takes a lot of grit and experience and have mentors before you can run-off from life and roam the street, "street smarts".
