Police: Woman set fire to her own home in Aiea

Officers arrested a 46-year-old Aiea woman Monday on suspicion of starting a fire in her home that caused $15,000 worth of damage,

The fire. reported at 4:12  p.m. Sunday in the ground floor unit of a two-story structure at 99-1156 Halawa Heights Road, was contained to a ground-floor bedroom.

The suspect was the only person  at home at the time, police said.

Another family lives on the second floor.

The fire was brought under control within 10 minutes, and no injuries were reported.

In addition to second-degree arson, the suspect was arrested on suspicion of harassment.
