The man was assaulted in the middle of the road, fronting 91-965 Komana St. about 12:20 a.m. Sunday after three men approached the victim, police said.

One or more of the suspects assaulted the victim, then the suspects fled in a black or dark-colored sedan on Komana Street toward Pailani Street. Police described the suspects as in their late teens to early 20s.

The victim, of Ewa Beach, sustained head and body injuries and died at the hospital. Police did not say when he died. Officers opened a second-degree murder investigation.
