Escapee is charged after more than 2 months of freedom

A 32-year-old inmate who failed to return from a work furlough program for more than two months was charged Wednesday.

Pune Luangrath now faces second-degree escape and drug charges.

Police said he escaped Jan. 7 by failing to return to the Honolulu correctional facility and was arrested Wednesday during a traffic stop.

His bail was set at $50,000.
