Probably due to not enough staff, per article last week, due to sick leave being taken etc. Very few weekend visits have been on.

There's a proposal in Congress currently which will provide the over 30,000 prisoners population with cell-phones under consideration. This should ease the sick leave problem at OCCC.

This "organization" needs to fire everyone and go out on a bid for a commercial company to run it. No overtime, adequate and trained guards and a competent director. Get the state out of running a prison. The state is lousy at it and can't improve even with hundreds of hearing, consulting, directives and all the B.S. that state spinners put out.

The prisons run by private companies don't seem to have good results, if i remember correctly.

Your small minded attitude is exactly why the guards have been gaming the system for years. Nobody cares. Maybe you don't pay taxes, but I do. A lot. And I hate seeing it wasted on ACOs' overtime. Whether or not the inmates receive visitors is irrelevant. The fact that the other criminals (the ones with the uniforms) are stealing from us, the taxpayers, is.

Sounds like all the guards took off to watch the basketball games, and go fishing, and go to the beach, and go to the shopping center, etc, etc... and no one is going to do anything about it.
