Multiple accidents on the H-1 freeway after the H-1/H-2 merge backed up traffic coming into town.

Freeway cameras showed a fire truck blocking the three left lanes of the freeway in the town-bound direction at about 8:30 a.m.

A Honolulu Police dispatch supervisor said there were two accidents near the Waimalu offramp at about 7:45 a.m. and a 7:56 a.m.

It's unclear if the accidents were related or if there were serious injuries.

Hawaii News Now reported the accidents involved about seven vehicles.

Wet roads out there and elsewhere on the island. Slow down, and keep your distance. Oh yeah, get off your cell phones, too!

Stupid, inconsiderate, dumb drivers - going too fast, tailgating, switching lanes constantly, and inattention (cell phone texting/talking) reading, etc. causes these constant "accidents". And there's not a thing we can do about it, except expect more.
