Officers arrested a 56-year-old homeless man, who was stopped by a homeowner while apparently burglarizing a Kapiolani area dwelling.

Police said the suspect was confronted by the 66-year-old homeowner at 11 a.m. Saturday while attempting to take items from the dwelling.

The suspect fled.

But police caught the suspect on Waialae Avenue near the Hawaiian Humane Society headquarters Tuesday afternoon.

He was arrested on suspicion on first-degree burglary, two counts of promoting dangerous drug and possessing drug paraphernalia.
