An off-balance moment led an alleged moped thief’s arrest early Friday morning.

According to police, 31-year-old Anser Antonius fell off a moped at the intersection of Moanalua Road and Kaahumanu Street in Waimalu around 1:26 a.m.

An officer who witnessed the fall went to assist Antonius but during a routine check learned that the moped had been reported stolen.

Antonius was arrested at the scene and charged Saturday with unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle. His bail was set at $15,000.
