Police arrest suspect for alleged assault on officer

A 38-year-old homeless man assaulted a police officer early Sunday morning in the Kalihi area, according to police records.

Police said a 23-year-old officer was attempting to arrest the man around 5:10 a.m. for alleged trespassing when he assaulted the officer.

Officers arrested the man, who has no local address, near 2121 Kalena Dr. in Kalihi on suspicion of first-degree assault of a law enforcement officer, first-degree trespassing and resisting arrest, according to police records.
