A 32-year-old man who ran out on a hotel bill was spotted at another hotel and arrested Monday, police said.

The man checked into a Waikiki hotel on March 20 and stayed for a couple of weeks, police said. He left the hotel without paying the bill on Sunday, police said.

A security guard saw the suspect at another hotel across the street on Monday and called police.

Officers arrested him on suspicion of theft.

How is that possible, all major hotels require you to show a valid credit card up front when checking in, often times putting a hold for the amount you owe, just to check the card is not rejected by the credit card company for the amount owed.
