A bodysurfer took off on a wave at Sandy Beach on Friday. National Weather Service forecasters said surf on east-facing shores could reach 7 to 10 feet over the next two days.

A high surf advisory for the east shores of all islands has been extended through Wednesday morning.

Officials with the National Weather Service expect surf of 5 to 8 feet along the east-facing shores of all islands through tonight. The advisory is posted through 6 a.m. Wednesday.

Beachgoers are advised to expect rough and choppy surf and are asked to heed all advice given by ocean safety officials.
