2 people seriously injured in Waimanalo crash

Two people were seriously injured in a collision on Kalanianaole Highway in Waimanalo Wednesday morning.

Paramedics took a 40-year-old woman and a 21-year-old man to the hospital in serious condition following the crash, according to an Emergency Medical Services report.

Honolulu Police reopened Kalanianaole Highway in Waimanalo after traffic investigators finished examining the scene of  the accident.

The highway was closed in both directions between Tinker Road and Aloiloi Street and reopened by about 8 a.m.

The accident happened at about 6:50 a.m. near the Waimanalo polo field, according to the Honolulu Police traffic information website.
