Police are investigating three small Molokai brush fires that may have been intentionally set, the Maui Fire Department said.

Firefighters were sent to a brush fire at Kalamaula Mauka and found three fires burning at that location.

Two of the fires, located at Likelike Avenue and Pookela Street, merged into a quarter acre blaze.

The third fire also scorched a quarter acre, and was about 50 yards west of the other fire on Likelike Avenue.

The fires were quickly contained and extinguished, and did not threaten any homes or injure people.
