Firefighters respond to brush fire in Waianae

More than 25 firefighters responded on Tuesday to a brush fire in Waianae, after heavy smoke was reported in the area.

Firefighters were summoned to 85-166 Plantation Road at 10:16 a.m. near the Waianae landfill.

Ten fire companies responded to battle the blaze, which stretched across Pililaau Park.

Smoke from the fire could be seen from as far as Pokai Bay, authorities said.
