A 33-year-old Kaneohe man is working with police internal affairs in an alleged harassment case against his ex-girlfriend’s father, a Windward district police commander, despite dropping a temporary restraining order case against him.

Kristopher Aiana said he stands by his allegations in the TRO request that Maj. Ryan Borges threatened him after saying he didn’t want him with his daughter.

A police spokeswoman said Borges continues to have his police powers suspended, which occurred April 17 after the TRO was served on him.

At a Wednesday TRO hearing, Aiana agreed to drop the case.

The TRO case was dismissed with prejudice, barring Aiana from filing the TRO based on the same facts again.

Borges’ attorney, Richard Wurdeman, said the allegations were unfounded, and it was Aiana’s fourth attempt after three failed attempts to get a TRO.

Aiana was convicted of felony assault on Borges’ daughter in 2011.

He said he dropped the TRO so Borges’ daughter, who is his 6-year-old son’s mother, would allow him to resume visits with the boy.

Aiana said he did not expect the case to receive media attention, nor did he think Borges’ job would be affected.
