Makiki man arrested for allegedly choking woman

By Star-Advertiser staff

POSTED:

A 28-year-old Makiki man is in police custody in connection with a nearly month-old choking incident, according to police records.

A 26-year-old woman told police the man strangled her during an argument the two were having around 4 a.m. on April 6, but that she was afraid to call police because the man threatened her. The woman reported the April incident early Sunday morning following another argument with the man, police said.

Police arrested the man around 1:20 a.m. on Matlock Avenue on suspicion of abuse of a family or household member and intimidating a witness, according to police records.

Out on bail pending a 3 year "investigation" - meaning the prosecutors office doesn't want to take any time off to prosecute. Thanks Keith Kaneshiro.
