Missing man found disoriented in lava field

A man who was trying to get help after a car accident was found disoriented in a lava field off Highway 190 in Puuanahulu on Thursday morning, two days after the crash, Hawaii County police said.

Arthur Medina, 33, of Kailua-Kona, was located about 1/8th of a mile south of Pu'u Wa'awa'a Ranch in North Kona at about 8 a.m. Thursday.

Medina was taken to the North Hawaii Community Hospital for treatment of his injuries.

Police said Medina got into a single car accident Tuesday morning near the area where he was found.
