Police are investigating the discovery of a man’s body near a construction site Wednesday in Makiki.

At about 7:25 a.m., a caller reported the body was in the bushes near Prospect and Pele streets, police said.

Detectives are still investigating and have not identified the man yet. The case is being treated as an unattended death.

Shayne Enright, spokeswoman for the city’s Department of Emergency Services, said the man appeared to be in his 40s.

The Honolulu Medical Examiner’s Office has scheduled an autopsy for Thursday.
