Police looking for armed robber in Waikiki

Police are looking for a gunman who robbed the Aloha Island Mart at 2015 Kalakaua Ave. in Waikiki Wednesday night.

The man was wearing a black hoodie when he entered the gas station about 7:45 p.m. and brandished a firearm, police said.

He demanded money and fled with cash.

Brazen...even if they get caught, just proved that in the middle of Waikiki, at one of the busiest forks in the city of Honolulu, in the early evening hours...you can be robbed at gunpoint. That gas station is busy, in a crowded pedestrian area. I know it doesn't generate the revenue as say...ohhh..closing down one lane of traffic on Lunalilo Street near the Makiki Post Office to give out tickets to seat belt offenders and cell phone users in their cars during rush hour...but we already have a problem with tourists being turned off by the homeless, now we have cowboy gangsters in Waikiki?
