Maui County police are investigating what they are calling a suspicious death on Molokai.

Police said a passing moped drive saw a man motionless on the road at about 6:45 a.m. Tuesday near mile post 15 on Kamehameha Highway in Mapulehu.

Emergency crews responding to the scene were unable to revive him and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police identified the victim as Koshari Kahikili, 20, of Mapulehu, Molokai.

Police said Kahikili sustained a head injury and his death appears suspicious.

Kahikili’s body was flown to Maui, where an autopsy will be performed.
