HECO restores power to Diamond Head, Kaimuki

Hawaiian Electric has restored power to an area from the Diamond Head side of Waikiki into Kaimuki. 

A power outage started shortly after 5 p.m., affecting traffic lights as well as homes and businesses. Electricity was restored shortly after 5:30 p.m.

Police received an initial report of one person stuck in a hotel elevator.

Hawaiian Electric spokesman Darren Pai said troubleshooters are still investigating the cause of the outage.
