Maui firefighters search for paragliders in ocean

Maui firefighters and the Coast Guard are checking the ocean off Keawekapu Beach in Kihei after witnessess said they saw what appeared to be two paragliders enter the water Wednesday evening.

A Maui Fire Department spokesman said Wednesday taht an ocean search was being conducted with the Fire Department's rescue boat, along with a Coast Guard helicopter and their 45 foot rescue boat. 

Witnessess said the paragliders appeared to enter the water about a hal-mile to 3 miles offshore.
