NEW YORK » Thunderstorms are delaying flights and wreaking havoc on Memorial Day travel at the New York City area's three major airports.

Departures are delayed an hour or more at Kennedy and delayed up to an hour and 45 minutes at Newark. La Guardia also reported delays.
FlightAware reports 174 cancelled and 886 delayed arrivals and departures as of 9 p.m.
