Man arrested for allegedly carrying drugs

By Star-Advertiser staff

A 21-year-old man is facing charges Saturday after police said he assaulted another man and was carrying a substance resembling drugs in Makiki.

Police said the man, who has no local address, hit a 37-year-old man with a dangerous instrument and fled about 4:30 p.m. Friday.

Police found the suspect nearby on Kinau Street near Keeaumoku Street and discovered a packet containing the possible drugs in his pocket.

The man was booked for investigation of second-degree assault and third-degree promoting a dangerous drug.
