Kailua woman charged with assault on police officer

Prosecutors charged a 49-year-old Kailua woman for alleged assaults on a 49-year-old man and a police officer involved in her arrest.

Police said officers arrested Kristen Higgins after she allegedly threatened the victim just before 11 p.m. Monday.

Higgins allegedly assaulted a police officer during her arrest Monday night near the Kailua Shopping Center. 

She is charged with second-degree terroristic threatening and second-degree assault on a law enforcement officer. Bail is set at $2,000.
