A 21-year-old Makaha man denied stabbing an employee of Waianae Hardware Store on Monday and entered a not guilty plea in Circuit Court on charges of attempted assault and robbery.

Chad Hoapate Teisina III, also known as Chad Tisina, is being held in the Oahu Community Correctional Center in connection with the stabbing of the employee at Waianae Hardware on May 28.

He entered his plea from Oahu Community Correctional Center using the judiciary’s closed video system since he is unable to post bail of $100,000.  His criminal trial will begin the week of Aug. 11 before Circuit Judge Randal Lee.

Teisina was initially arrested on suspicion of second-degree attempted murder. The charges were later reduced to first-degree attempted assault and first-degree robbery.
