Fire destroyed a caretakers residence, displacing two people, at Leeward Funeral Home in Pearl City on Friday.

The fire was first reported at 12:18 p.m.. Firefighters arrived to find the structure fully engulfed and at least one vehicle also ablaze.

Firefighters brought the blaze under control by 12:29 p.m. and had it fully extinguished by 1:21 p.m.

The two occupants, both in their 50s, were unharmed and are being assisted by the American Red Cross.

No damage estimates are yet available and the cause of the fire has yet to be determined.
