Man allegedly assaults police officer on Punchbowl Street

By Star-Advertiser staff

A 59-year-old man was arrested early Saturday morning after he allegedly assaulted two police officers.

According to police, the officers were responding to a services complaint at Punchbowl Street near Miller Street when they were assaulted by a man who does not have a local address.

He was arrested on suspicion of assault on a law enforcement officer. His bail was set at $50,000.

The incident was the third time in the last four days that a police officer has allegedly been assaulted while on duty.

On Wednesday, a male officer investigating a complaint in Kalihi was injured when he was kicked by a 24-year-old Kalihi man.

On Thursday, a 54-year-old Waimanalo woman allegedly assaulted an on-duty police officer in Waimanalo.

I said it a few days ago when another police officer was assaulted that we should bring back the Metro Squad aka V Task Force that once was led by Larry Mehau et co. I can guarantee you all these idiots and punks assaulting police officers would not be doing what they're doing now.

HOSSANA, agree. My brother was on that Metro Squad. They made many "attitude adjustments" out of sight of witnesses, with no bruises showing on the punks.

To the person who wrote this. If I punch you in the face will you write it as being "allegedly" punched in face? Just curious.

@cojef - What a remarkable job of hand-wringing you pulled off there. If right-wing is more to your liking, try living in Arizona. They'll probably elect you Governor. But you'll have to keep up the "All our problems are from the left-wing" mantra. It's a requirement there.
