A 55-year-old man is in police custody facing an attempted murder charge after he allegedly tried to suffocate a 65-year-old woman in her Waimanalo home early Wednesday morning.
Police said the incident happened at around 12:21 a.m. The suspect, who did not list a home address, was arrested three hours later on Old Kalanianaole Highway, on suspicion of second-degree murder, violating a temporary restraining order and first-degree terroristic threatening.
Police said the suspect and victim knew each other, but did not release other details.
