The Medical Examiner’s Office identified an 80-year-old woman whose body was found in waters off the Outrigger Club on Tuesday as Joan Crowder of Cambira, Calif.

The cause of death is pending further tests.

An ambulance took Crowder to the hospital after she was discovered in waters near the Outrigger Canoe Club at about 6 p.m. Tuesday.

A Fire Department spokesman said people at the Outrigger Canoe Club and a lifeguard pulled her from the waters fronting Michel’s restaurant and tried to revive her using a portable defibrillator.

Police said Crowder died at the hospital.
