Woman, 18, hurt when moped hits guard rail

An 18-year-old woman was seriously injured in a moped crash on Saturday afternoon.

According to an Emergency Medical Services report, the woman was traveling east on Kamehameha Highway near Kipapa Bridge around 5 p.m. when she apparently lost control of her moped and struck a guardrail.

The woman was taken in serious condition to a local trauma center.
