The body of missing diver Nicholas Spotkaeff was recovered Monday morning by a private fishing boat off Oahu's North Shore.

Spotkaeff, 56, went missing while diving off Kaena Point on Saturday, and was last seen swimming with his son.

The Coast Guard identified Spotkaeff in a press release Monday afternoon.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with the family members during this extremely difficult time," Capt. Shannon Gilreath, Coast Sector Honolulu commanding officer said in a press release. "Our gratitude goes out to all those involved in the search who helped bring it to closure."

The Coast Guard, Ocean Safety and the Honolulu Fire Department had been searching for Nicholas Spotkaeff, who was last seen swimming with his son in the vicinity of Kaena Point on Saturday.

The body was discovered around 8:30 a.m., 10 miles off shore of Kuilima Point, the Honolulu Fire Department reported.
