Man seriously injured in Kailua bicycle crash

Paramedics took a 44-year-old man to the hospital in serious condition following an accident involving a bicycle and an automobile in Kailua on Monday night.

The accident happened at 11:14 p.m. at Kailua Road and Oneawa Street, according to an Emergency Medical Services Division report.

Hmmm.....I wonder if the man had the proper and required lighting on his bicycle for night operation and was following proper traffic rules, or was he in "stealth mode", unlighted, cutting recklessly across lanes and through intersections trying to avoid traffic like many bicyclists often do.
