The Medical Examiner's Office identified a man who died in shallow water near the Diamond Head area of Waikiki Beach last month as Charles Muno, 43, of Edina, Minn.

At 6:07 a.m. on June 18, a surfer found Muno in two feet of water at Waikiki Beach fronting a residential area at the end of Kalakaua Avenue.

Paramedics responded and he was pronounced dead at 6:19 a.m.

The cause of Muno's death has been deferred pending further investigation.

The cause of death was not deferred, it was already fully implemented. However, reporting the cause of death might have been deferred.
