Waianae man charged for allegedly forging a check

By Associated Press

A 54-year-old Waianae man was charged with forging a 72-year-old man's check in Waianae.

Police said the man tried to cash a stolen and forged check at a Waianae bank about 9:30 a.m.

Thursday, but the teller called the account holder who confirmed that the check was forged. Police arrested the younger man at the bank in Waianae Mall Shopping Center. He was charged Thursday night with second-degree forgery. His bail was set at $25,000.

Bank tellers are not fortune tellers, even in Waianae. The account holder was one very fortunate man.
