Waianae man charged for allegedly forging a check

A 54-year-old Waianae man was charged with forging a 72-year-old man’s check in Waianae.

Police said the man tried to cash a stolen and forged check at a Waianae bank about 9:30 a.m. 

Thursday, but the teller called the account holder who confirmed that the check was forged. Police arrested the younger man at the bank in Waianae Mall Shopping Center. He was charged Thursday night with second-degree forgery. His bail was set at $25,000.
