Maui police looking for missing man in Kaupo

Maui police and firefighters are searching for a missing man who was last seen in Kaupo.

John Flavin, 44, was last seen sleeping in his car at a campsite called Plenty Kiawe on July 4. Friends noticed him missing at around 9 a.m. but his car was still at the campsite, police said.

Firefighters conducted an aerial search of the area but were unable to locate him.

Flavin is described as Caucasian, 5-feet-8-inches tall, 190 pounds, with hazel eyes and brown hair. He was last seen wearing a dark colored T-shirt and tan shorts.

Anyone with information is asked to call Maui Police at 244-6400 or Detective Dennis Lee at 244-6425.
