The Medical Examiner’s Office identified a 26-year-old Aiea man who was killed on Saturday when the motorcycle he was driving collided with another motorcycle.

Nicholaus Siu died at the scene of the collision on the onramp of the H-3 freeway from Likelike Highway in Kaneohe.

An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death.

Police said excessive speed was a possible factor in the crash.

Paramedics took the 22-year-old driver of the other motorcycle to the Queen’s Medical Center in serious condition. His condition later improved to stable, police said.

Police said Siu, driving a 2014 Suzuki GSXR motorcycle, and the 22-year-old man, operating a 2007 Suzuki GSXR motorcycle hit each other. Witnesses observed the motorcycles collide, causing both to slide against the pavement and a metal guardrail, police said.

Both men were wearing helmets.

Siu’s death is the 35th traffic fatality on Oahu this year compared to 35 traffic fatalities at the same time last year.
